DELAYED: Critical Update Regarding Rivenstone
10 months ago – Fri, Jul 07, 2023 at 10:12:38 PM

Greetings BAM Fam–

Thank you for your enduring patience as we navigate the waters that are continued production issues.

Where to start?

Layoffs: We mentioned it last update, but the layoffs were necessary to ensure our current projects remain viable. We miss our team tremendously, and we are hoping to recover sooner than later and bring them back as soon as we can. The owners and remaining team members have been tasked with production. It has been a rough month since the layoffs, but production continues. We did have to take a short 2 week pause to produce some OEM products, to help offset and pay for machine repairs, and extraneous bills. Speaking of machine repairs. I don't think a week goes by without one of our two machines going down for maintenance or extensive repair. Very frustrating to say the least.

3D Printing: We heard some feedback regarding us producing some parts in 3d print material. We hear you, and rest assured we will produce what we can produce in Siocast. However, there are parts that are simply not going to work in molds. It’s mostly the big characters that are defying the norm. Corum, Belcroft and Hobart in particular. Parts of them may be made in Siocast but the rest in 3D print material in order to maintain quality. We have tested our print resin material exhaustively, and we are very confident you all will have a good experience hobbying with it.

Sample Rulebooks: We are moving to sample print the rulebook, and we should have that sample back in about 2 weeks. Once we get it, we will share images with you all.

Dice: Our dice vendor still has our molds on hand, so we are placing the final order for the remaining dice as soon as possible. We wanted to wait to have them ship on the same freight as our books to save on shipping.

With our reduced team, continued issues with machines and now having to produce certain parts in a different material and technology, we are not as confident as before in the Q3 delivery. We are pushing, and working hard to get things done as quickly as we can, but we can only do so much in the time we have each day.

What we can do is keep you all regularly updated, every 2 weeks or so with any progress we make, or lack thereof. But any communication is better than no communication, as we have learned the hard way from our Discord members. We thank them for their patience, honesty, and their understanding while we work through this rough period.

Rivenstone means the world to us, and having you all play it means even more. We can not wait to wrap up this project and see your painted musters on the tables.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

NEWS: Big Company Update, Production Tracker, + NTM Final Round
11 months ago – Mon, Jun 12, 2023 at 05:17:46 PM

Greetings BAM Fam--

Many thanks to folks for their patience over the last couple of weeks as our team has been juggling a lot more than usual between big changes at HQ and the Broken Anvil Studio Paint campaign.

Before I get into our usual news updates like the Tracker, I want to specifically address the big changes that are underway at BAM HQ. As some may have already heard through the grapevine, Broken Anvil's parent company is in the final stages of being acquired by new ownership. There are many aspects of this process the BAM Team isn't able to publicly discuss at this time, but it has become public knowledge that some BAM Team members were temporarily furloughed as part of ongoing reorganization efforts.

We'll be able to share more details about the changes once this process is further along, but for those of us still manning the ship at BAM HQ in the interim, we want to assure the community that there is a very bright future for BAM on the other side of this process. As many of you know, our team has always focused strongly on making things, be it games, minis, hobby supplies, because we're excitable creatives on the whole. However, that bias for aggressive creativity left other parts of our operations a bit neglected--e.g. customer service emails (iykyk... 😬)

Rivenstone is our crown jewel as a company, and to see it grow to its full potential, there are many aspects of our operations that have to change to meet its long term needs and those of the community.

In the coming months, our team will be working hard on implementing new structures to ensure that all of the projects and products we've built so far are given everything they need to not only successfully deliver but grow over time. The same goes for the BAM Team. We've gone a really long way since our inception with very, very tight resources--a testament to the unparalleled skill and passion of the BAM Team. We're excited to see how much further we can go together with the right strategy and support.

That all being said, we're sure you have questions! We'll be holding an AMA on our Discord server in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for event details that will be posted here.

Otherwise, you can always shoot us an email at [email protected] with any questions/concerns you might have at the moment. I'll do my best to get back to you promptly.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

FULFILLMENT TRACKER

Let's take a look at the tracker and cover what's been happening at the shop.

Unfortunately, our production team has been thrown some curveballs on the production front. Our machine designated for Rivenstone production has been down repeatedly for over two weeks.

As we've been working on repairs, we've also been working on solutions to some of the most complicated engineering issues posed by the largest models. The floating platforms of Corum and the Seer (for example) are proving to be nearly impossible to make happen in SioCast, so we're investigating manufacturing some parts of our models in 3D print resin to avoid creating huge construction headaches for players.

Additionally, we may produce more portions of our remaining miniatures in 3D print if we continue having operational issues with the problematic machine. We'll have more details forthcoming on what that might look like later this month.

Speaking of the sassiest/most temperamental machine in the fleet, it ALMOST has a name...

PREORDERS DELAYED: Technical Difficulties
12 months ago – Tue, May 02, 2023 at 05:27:41 PM

Hey y'all--

I am going to have to delay launching preorders until this Friday as I am having a hell of a time making sure nothing is going to break existing orders (AKA my personal Armageddon.) Apologies for the inconvenience!

Also, I realized I forgot to post the new round of voting results for the Name the Machine contest with my last update, so those will be available Friday as well.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to scream at the sky for a bit and maybe eat a snack. 🙃

Thanks again,

NEWS: Tracker Update!
almost 1 year ago – Tue, Apr 25, 2023 at 11:38:54 AM

Hey BAM Fam!

I hope this message finds you well! I am seeing a ton of positive feedback on the illustrated rulebook (plus a few extra little details to fix thanks to our eagle-eyed community members--thank you!!) We are so thrilled with how it came out, and I am very excited to show you some box mockups I'm working on in the coming weeks. I think it will be cool to show you exactly how your minis and terrain will arrive and how they'll look on retail shelves later this year. It's feeling like a very real product now with all the bells and whistles.✨

It's been a busy time at the shop between our other projects and keeping manufacturing Rivenstone on track, but I just wanted to pop in and give you a new Tracker update. 😊

Engineering is currently tackling some of the models we've been putting off due to their complexity, but their progress is steady, if a little on the slow side. The Shard Knight is one of the models in question, for example, due to its size. The breakdown requires some fancy maneuvers to ensure the Siocast production goes smoothly and makes for some clean high-quality parts. Takes a little longer, but it's worth it!

Mastering and Moldmaking are waiting on some of those final models from Engineering to come though, but the Production Team has been able to make some headway. We're so close to 50% of models manufactured! I am hoping to cross that threshold in the next two weeks.

Also: we're currently at a complete mold count for Rivenstone of 150! We're crossing all kinds of huge milestones.

Thanks again for being the awesome folks you are, and I can't wait to share even more in the coming weeks.

All the best,

✌️ Hanna + The BAM Team
